When looking for a laptop for the first time or as a replacement or upgrade for an existing one it is important to try get a clear idea of just what you are intending to use it for and what software you are likely to want to install and run on it , rather than be talked into spending more money than you intended to spend on a laptop that has features and capabilities that you do not need and will probably not use but pay for.  Before purchasing  software look carefully as it will have printed somewhere on the packaging both Minimum and Recommended  system requirements. If your laptop dose not meet at least the minimum requirements , the software is unlikely to run correctly.

Finally, if you decide to buy a new laptop ,don't be afraid to to ask for a discount and  shop  around for the best price . With the speed at which technology is moving forward there is little point in trying to buy something that is " Future Proof" , as you can almost guaranty that what you buy today will be available with better a specification and lower price tag in a matter of months .The bottom line is buy what you need for today , not what you might need in six months or a years time !.
